International Professional Security Association (Hong Kong) Ltd., formerly the local region of IPSA in UK, has been established in Hong Kong since 1978 and became independent in January 2001. Totally committed to the professional advancement of our members and the security industry, we organize regular seminars, workshops, training courses and visits to spread both knowledge and experience.

Our objectives are to improve the prestige and status of the security industry by:

  • Encouraging scientific and professional practices in the security industry;

  • Promoting ethical conduct, professional standards and continuous professional development;

  • Providing a forum for the exchange of views and information; and

  • Representing and promoting the interests of the members of IPSA(HK).

(a) Holder of "Certificate in Security Management" issued/recognized by IPSA(HK); Or 
(b) Being a Qualified Security Trainer of IPSA(HK); Or 
(c) Successfully attained the MIISec level of the International Institute of Security in UK; Or 
(d) Other professional qualifications of an equivalent level or above; And  
(e) Attained good understanding of the licensing and training requirements under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance.

2 years or above relevant experience

Two references of good character from existing members of IPSA(HK) or IPSA(HK) recognized professional bodies.

At least 1 year as AIPSA plus the following:
(a)10 years or above supervisory experience in the Security Industry; And  
(b) Attained good understanding of the licensing and training requirements under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance.

Certified Member ("CMIPSA")

At least 3 years as MIPSA plus the following: 
(a) Holder of "Diploma in Security Management" issued/recognized by IPSA(HK); Or 
(b) Successfully attained the Dip.IISec level of the IISec; Or 
(c) Successfully attained the CPP level of the ASIS; Or 
(d) Other professional qualifications of an equivalent level or above; And 
(e) Attained good understanding of the licensing and training requirements under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance.

5 years or above relevant experience

Two references of good character from existing members of IPSA(HK) or IPSA(HK) recognized professional bodies

Fellowship ("FIPSA")

Members who have remained in good standing with the association for ten years or more and have made exceptional contributions to the association or the security industry or have attained exceptional professional advancement relevant to the security profession.

A panel will be formed for selection and award on annual basis.

Life Member

Members with 20 years or above continuous membership with IPSA(HK).

Note 1
Former members who rejoin may get their former membership duration taken into consideration for advancement to MIPSA if they fulfil one of the following conditions:-
1. Had formally tendered their withdrawal/resignation from the Association with good reasons; Or
2. Are prepared to pay up all the membership fees for the missing period.

Note 2
Life members are exempted from paying annual subscription fees.

Qualifying Criteria

Manned Guarding or "MG" in short 

a)

The company must be run under valid business registration.

b)

The company must be properly licensed for providing the relevant security services.

c)

The company must be adequately insured for its operations.

d)

The management of the company must be able to demonstrate adequate governance over its business and a system for continuous improvement of the standard of its services.
