With great pleasure, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (HKJCDPRI) cordially invites you to the Annual Conference on Disaster Preparedness and Response 2018: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities Ahead.

The conference is the third time of the series since 2015. It serves as a crucial platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge and lessons learnt, as well as to enhance communication and coordination, in order to better prepare Hong Kong for future disasters.

The Programme

This one-day conference will feature local and international speakers who will share lessons from recent events such as Typhoon Hato, Boston Marathon bombing and mass casualty incidents in Hong Kong, and focus on current challenges facing emergency workers. Please see the programme here.

Who Should Attend

The conference is designed for professionals as well as individuals and organisations from both the public and private sectors involved in disaster preparedness, emergency response, public health emergency preparedness and response and community-based disaster preparedness.

Conference Side Event (14 January 2018, Sunday)

With the support of the Hong Kong Red Cross, a side event "WARZONE90" programme is offered to all conference registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will allow you to experience the horror and misery of war through a series of authentic experiences.

Conference Affiliated Events

Two Conference Affiliated Events are offered by the Hong Kong Association for Conflict & Catastrophe Medicine: Advanced HazMat Life Support Course (11-12 January) and Advanced Disaster Medical Response Course (15-16 January).
